- Single-circuit.
- Double-circuit.
Single-circuit boilers are designed for heating. They are simple and relatively inexpensive. In addition, the installation of such boilers is not particularly difficult. If desired, you can convert a single-circuit boiler to provide hot water supply. For this, an indirectly heated storage water heater, that is, a boiler, is built into the heating system. The container is filled with water as needed. The heating pipe runs through the boiler and heats up the water. Such a water heating system is economical and does not require additional gas consumption.
Single-circuit gas boilers are easy to operate, reliable and have a long service life.
Double-circuit boilers are a more complex and expensive unit. One circuit provides heat, and the second for hot water supply. The control system in such boilers is automated, the heating and hot water temperatures are set independently of each other. Double-circuit boilers consume more gas than single-circuit boilers. This is a case where economy is sacrificed for convenience. Water in double-circuit boilers can be heated in two ways:
- The first way. Heating the circuit in a flow-through heat exchanger. An obvious disadvantage: cold water flows from the tap for some time after switching on. Gas consumption with this method increases.
- Second way. The use of a storage water heater for water heating. In this case, the water maintains the set temperature for a long time, which saves gas consumption.
