Installation steps
Before starting the installation of the drain, it is necessary to inspect the house, identify its architectural differences, outstanding elements and depressions. The design at the place of installation should not contradict the general style solution. Then they begin to draw up an installation scheme and calculate the roof area from which water will flow. This can be easily done using school knowledge of geometry.
A drain pipe with a cross section of 100 mm functions effectively with a roof area of up to 220 "squares".
The installation itself is simple, it resembles the assembly of a designer, if you follow the step-by-step instructions. First, the gutter brackets are installed. It is carried out before fixing the eaves and metal tiles. On the lower battening board, using a tape measure, the fastening points are marked with a step of 500 mm. No more than 10 m of the gutter is used per pipe, with a general slope of 3 mm per 1 m. The deviation from the edge of the board should be no more than 150 mm. At this distance, it is required to mount the first holder.
The extreme brackets are bent down with a strip bend, a lace is pulled between them. The middle ones are mounted in a similar way so that they are in contact with the lace. If the chute is long, it can be cut to size.
- On the gutter, mark and make a tick-shaped cut 10 cm wide at the top under the outlet funnel. The recommended distance from it to the groove edge is 15 cm.
- In front of the funnel, fill under the outer groove bend. Then they are tightly pressed and fixed, bending the carved flange to the trailing edge. Plugs are mounted on the ends of the gutters using a mallet.
- The gutters are tucked into the brackets and reinforced.
- Cornice strips are fixed on the lathing board. The installation of the cornice is carried out so that it overlaps the inner groove wall. The cornice is planted on the lathing boards with screws. Overflow limiters are mounted on the gutter in those places where the water flows down especially abundantly.
- If it is necessary to dock the grooved sections, they are inserted one into the other with a margin of 25–30 mm. At the junction, you will need to install a connector with an elastic rubber gasket. With the rear flange, they cling to the inner gutter edge, pull it up to the gutter before, close the lock, which is fixed with a tongue.
- The funnel is connected to the pipe with two elbows and a connecting sleeve. The length of the latter is determined locally and, if necessary, the part is reduced with a cutter or hacksaw for metal. The pieces that remain after assembly can be used for repair needs if they are crimped with corrugated pliers.
- The kit offers two types of tube holders. They are used on any surfaces and materials. They are mounted on the wall of the building taking into account the following: one piece for each meter of the pipeline and at the sections where the segments are joined. Pipes are fixed in them using special locking structures.
- A drain elbow is attached to the bottom of the pipe, measuring 30 cm to the blind area.
Self-assembly of the Prestige drainage system is not difficult. This does not require special skills and professional experience. From tools and materials, a hacksaw for metal, a cordless screwdriver, an electric drill or a hammer drill, screws and a strip bender will be needed.
